About Me – George Zoes for Harris County Judge

Hello, Harris County!
I am George Zoes, and I’m running for Harris County Judge to bring leadership grounded in business experience, community service, and a deep-rooted commitment to our county’s future. My journey is shaped by the dreams of my immigrant parents, who came to America from Greece seeking opportunity and a better life. Their resilience and determination instilled in me the values of hard work, perseverance, integrity, and the importance of giving back to the community.

A Legacy in Houston:
As a proud native Houstonian, I have watched our great city grow and evolve. From the heart of Spring Branch to the thriving urban center of Houston, I have witnessed firsthand the transformations that have shaped our city into the vibrant community we cherish. This city isn’t just where I live; it’s where my family’s history and my personal story have unfolded.

Business Leadership & Vision:
I grew up in the restaurant business, where I learned hard work, dedication, and how to create places where people feel welcome. At 24, I launched my first company in wholesale, design, and retail, reaching customers nationwide. Later, my work in import and export connected me to markets across the globe.

In Houston, I’ve built businesses that honor both community and tradition — from a booth and store at the Houston Rodeo to medical ventures providing wigs and cranial prostheses that help cancer patients live with dignity and confidence. With over three decades of leadership in retail, wholesale, and service, I know success comes not just from profit, but from building trust, resilience, and opportunities that strengthen the community.

Empathy & Community:
One of the defining moments in my journey was transforming a wig salon into a supportive environment for cancer patients. This experience underscored the importance of compassion and care in fostering hope and healing. It deepened my commitment to providing support to those in need and to creating spaces where individuals feel empowered.

Honoring Houston’s Spirit:
Houston’s traditions run deep, and I have had the privilege of contributing to them. As a lifelong member of the Houston Rodeo, I’ve volunteered on committees, run a western store, and raised funds for scholarships. I believe in the power of community to nurture future leaders, and I’m committed to supporting the programs that help make this possible.

A Heart for Spring Branch:
Spring Branch is more than just my hometown – it’s where my heart lies. I live here, work here, and am deeply invested in the well-being of this community. As Harris County Judge, I will ensure that every corner of our county benefits from thoughtful, inclusive leadership that fosters positive change.

Faith & Mentorship:
As a devoted member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, I’ve spent over 30 years volunteering at the church’s festival, believing in the power of unity and celebration. In addition, my commitment to mentoring the next generation of business leaders through mentorship and volunteering reflects my dedication to building a brighter future for all of Harris County.
